Little Slocan Valley, with “Big Chief” in background. Slocan river glimpsed in foreground. The Slocan Valley is to be found in S.E. British Columbia. Part of the southern Selkirk mountain range.

For me that is “Serenity”.

  1. Hi Kim,
Yes, I should have been a little more specific on the page? It’s the West Kootenay area, in S.E. British Columbia. The Slocan valley, is about 20 miles from Nelson B.C. The Valley itself is about fifty miles long with South Slocan at one end, where the Slocan river joins the Kootenay river. Which further downstream, in turn joins the Columbia river on it’s way to the coast. Between Washington State and Oregon. From South Slocan up to Slocan Lake, is about a fifty mile drive. All on paved highway and popular with tourists. After Slocan Lake, the highway climbs higher. Then down to Silverton and on to other small communities. Mostly popular retirement spots, or artists, all wanting a rural lifestyle. Cheers Jamie.
